Class Overview

The Lithium-Ion Battery Response Operations class is a full-day, hands-on training (0800–1700) focused on real-world lithium-ion battery emergencies. The day includes classroom instruction on battery chemistry, thermal runaway, toxicology, and hazards, followed by a live controlled battery burn demonstration. In the afternoon, participants break out for practical drill-ground training: EV and ESS walk-arounds, battery blanket deployment, undercar sprayers, salvage and overhaul tactics, and battery discharging/disposal procedures.

Lunch is provided daily, and evening networking mixers will be held each night.

Additional Afternoon Track for Fire Investigators & Code Enforcement Officers

We are also offering a dedicated afternoon session specifically for fire investigators and code enforcement officers. This track will cover NFPA 855, International Fire Code (IFC) considerations, fire cause determination, scene safety, and analysis. Investigators and code officers are welcome to attend the live battery burn demonstration as well. Lunch is provided for them too.
