National Fire Academy

The NFA has amazing in-person classes that are provided at their beautiful campus in Emmitsburg, MD, or remote across the United States. They also have online classes to assist in providing continuing education credits.

NDPC

This National Consortium provides amazing Hazmat training across the United States to many governmental agencies. Included within this amazing resource are online, in-person and direct delivery hazmat training opportunities for law enforcement, fire & rescue, emergency medical services and emergency response.  Visit NDPC’s YouTube Channel

Center for Domestic Preparedness

Located in Anniston, AL, the Center for Domestic Preparedness provides training to all emergency responders across the United States, along with many international partners. Among the high quality  traditional forms of instruction provided, they also provide advanced instruction in the field of CBRNE sampling and response. 

Energetic Materials Research and Testing Center

Located in Socorro, NM in conjunction with New Mexico Tech, the Energetic Materials Research and Testing Center is all about explosives. This amazing facility provides detailed classes in-person at their facility where emergency responders are able to identify the hazards and effects of energetic materials. There are also valuable online offerings as well. 

NCBRT / Academy of Counter-Terrorist Education

Located on the campus of Louisiana State University, this organization has a focus in biological agent response with a focus on Law Enforcement. With direct delivery training, they will come out to facility locations and provide specific training in awareness, protection, response, among other items. 

National Emergency Response and Recovery Training Center (Texas)

Located in College Station, TX, this massive campus provides extensive training to Texans and many members from across the world. Specifically for hazmat response, this campus and their partnership within the National Consortium provides detailed Hazmat training in initial training, ranging all the way to advanced classes. 

This campus not only provides specific Hazmat Training, it also has an area coined “Disaster City” where technical rescue classes are conducted, at times in conjunction with high quality Incident Management training. 

These classes are best undertaken in person, but TEEX also provides distance learning classes as well as online offerings in a wide field of specialties for any emergency responder. 

Center for Radiological Nuclear Training

Located in Mercury, NV, north of Las Vegas, this facility is located at the Nevada Nuclear Storage Site. Both in-person and online programs are available to responders seeking to understand the risks, hazards, and response to radioactive emergencies. 

 Security and Emergency Response Training Center

Located in Pueblo, CO, this 52 square mile campus has a direct focus on transportation emergency response. With offerings offered in-person, distance learning, and now online, SERTC is the national premier provider of training for specialist training in the hazmat field. 

Emergency Response Assistance Canada

This is in my humble opinion, the hazmat version of the NFA in Canada. They are the training and response group for all Canadiens, sorry Yanks’ you gotta pay for this one. From what I have heard and seen, this is amazing high quality training for any responder out there.

Transcaer

This amazing international organization provides valuable training to emergency responders across North America. They focus directly on training emergency responders in the field of transportation vessel response and mitigation of incidents. Transcaer provides both in-person offerings and online based trainings for responders seeking a better understanding in some of the most serious hazards faced in the emergency response realm. 

BNSF Hazmat 

More amazing transportation training from industry experts. BNSF offers online trainings to any emergency responder looking to identify many of the hazards faced in todays modern rail environment. 

CHEMTREC

CHEMTREC is the phone number responders need to know to get the help they need during the first minutes of an operation (1-800-424-9300). They also provide online training to shippers, manufacturers, and emergency responders in the realm of hazmat. 

Hazmat Nation

This great location provides news and insight in the world of Hazmat. As the webpage confirms, this is the Nation of Hazmat. To get geeky with your mad self on simple continuing training ideas in the field of Hazmat response. 

The Hazmat Guys

These guys are the Hazmat masters. From FDNY, they provide amazing continuing education content and talk about the most modern equipment out there. Check them out at their webpage, YouTube, Spotify, or any other podcast platform. 

Hazardous Materials Fusion Center (IAFC)

The IAFC has a significant focus in all realms of the fire service. At this link, they provide training specific in the field of Hazmat Response. Simple training resources provide valuable continuing training for emergency responders of ALL fields. 

First Line Tech

First Line Tech has been one of the main drivers to decontamination updates in the past years. They now have a training page to provide valuable training to ANY responders in need of decon training. 

Argon Electronics

While having  a significant focus on Military training, this page still provides quality training on many WMD type of events.
